Friendship + Motherhood don’t always mix

Posted on: May 16, 2011

All of us are hard wired to protect our families and put our kids first. I think this is why you can never assume that a pre-motherhood female friendship will stand the test of post-motherhood. I guess it is a true test of your ability to accept one another for all your talents and faults.

After you have kids and a spouse you also have to accept those faults on behalf of the rest of your family. This bridge can be a tricky one to cross. Some of my friendships weren’t able to make it to the other side. The ones that have, I cherish – and have learned not to take them for granted.
